The Strengthening Climate Resilience of Agricultural Livelihoods in Agro-Ecological Regions (SCRALAR) Project

The Strengthening Climate Resilience of Agricultural Livelihoods in Agro-Ecological Regions (SCRALAR) I and II in Zambia is a seven year project funded to an investment amount of US$137.3 million.  The SCRALAR initiative has the potential to economically empower an estimated 3million small holder farmers-mostly women, youths, and marginalized groups in 16 districts in agro-ecological regions I and II in Zambia. In coming up with this project, the role of the NDA was to constitute a technical committee of experts who reviewed the SCRALAR concept and recommended to the accredited entity (the UNDP) to prepare a full project proposal which as per procedure, was accompanied by a letter of no objection to the Green Climate Fund from the NDA.
