The Zambia Renewable Energy Financing Project

The Renewable Energy is a five year project with a total investment of US$154.0 million. It is anticipated that the successful implementation of this project will result in avoiding an equivalent of 4million tons of Carbon Dioxide (CO2), an effort in conformity with the UN SDG #7 on achieving “Affordable and clean energy” as well as meeting the goal of Pillar No.1 in the 7NDP and other policies of the Zambia Government. The Programme is fully aligned with the Government of the Republic of Zambia priorities to address the current power deficit and to diversify the country’s energy mix so as to reduce the hydro-dependence.
